Pregnancy follow up

A family in the making

Once you find out that you are pregnant, you will be scheduled for an ultrasound to confirm that the pregnancy is inside the uterus and be given advise and precautions. Educational material will be handed to you and all your questions will be answered. Also you will be advised for all the necessary tests that you have to do. After the initial visit, we will need to follow up your pregnancy once a month until 32 weeks, thereafter the visits will be every 2 weeks. If the pregnancy is high risk the visits may be more frequent.

Child birth

A life changing event

Our doctors deliver children at IASO, the largest maternity hospital in Greece. We try to prepare you about the process of childbirth, both physically and mentally. Our doctors believe that child birth is a life changing experience, one that each woman experiences in a different way and with the right support, team effort and analgesia, if needed, it can be an experience that you will fondly remember for the rest of your life.  In high risk deliveries our team of doctors and the medical and nursing staff of IASO are always ready to deal with it.

Post-partum period: The fourth trimester!

An amazing and intensive time with your newborn

It is a very intense time for the new mom, and she will need all the support she can get. The mother’s priority at this time is to feed and take care of her newborn, and that doesn’t leave a lot of free time.  She will need support and assistance from those close to her to have some baby free time during the day. Sometimes this comes abruptly to the mother who is not prepared.  We will assist you with breastfeeding and answer all your questions about the postpartum period. If you feel depressed or blue you should discuss this with our doctors. You will experience vaginal bleeding (lochia) that should be less every week, this usually lasts up to 6weeks.  After the end of the 6th week you should schedule your postpartum check up.
